Scurrying about
Gaining a perspective where you are at the same level as your subject is important in wildlife photography. That is why I believe the most important criteria when selecting an area for forest photography is finding terrain that is undulating and allows for careful positioning of your hide so that low level images are attainable while not having to lie on your stomach for extended periods of time. The other option is to raise props to eye level but I find this unappealing as I prefer to leave it to nature.
For this image I had the benefit of side lighting that I feel adds interest to the overall image.
