Sea of Heather
It was late August and the heather was out in fully bloom, turning the mountain side into a carpet of purple.
I spent time with thsi leveret as it lay sleeping in the heather but after a long period of inactivity it decided to start eating the sweet end shoots of the surrounding heather.
At the time I was using a recently aquired Nikon D7200, considered by many as a consumer camera. I enjoyed the light weight combination of this camera and a 300mm f4 prme meaning that I could walk around the mountainside without lugging about too heavy a setup. It was also much easier to hand old compared to my Nikon D3s.
