Hanging About
Did you know that Red Squirrels are extremely well adapted to their woodland habitat. They are extremely agile and can jump more from tree to tree up to a distance of approximately 2m. Red Squirrels can even travel headfirst down a tree at a very impressive speed made possible by their double-jointed ankles. This allows them to turn their feet around and dig their claws into the tree bark, no matter the direction they are travelling in.
Over the years spent in the company of Red Squirrels I have tried to capture as much of their behaviour as possible while trying at the same time to create pleasing images. This particular chap decided to hang up side down while eating a bit of foot that it had picked up.
